Love Is the Work: Womanist Wisdom for Truth, Care, and Collective Becoming
January 12 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
We gather to center womanism’s most radical teaching; love is not a feeling, it is a practice. Rooted in Black women’s wisdom, this service explores love as truth-telling, boundary-setting, accountability, and care. Womanist love refuses self-erasure and demands wholeness, dignity, and mutual responsibility. Through reflection, ritual, and shared grounding, we consider how love shows up in our relationships with ourselves, our people, and our communities—and how choosing love, again and again, becomes spiritual work and a pathway toward collective liberation. We leave reminded that love is not soft because it is weak; love is powerful because it is intentional.
