Dr. Mtangulizi Sanyika

Brother Dr. Sanyika (Baba) is a veteran scholar-activist with 57 years of experience as a social justice warrior, academician, activist- organizer, planner, strategist, trainer, lay theologian, and global citizen. He was the founding Chair of the Black Unitarian Universalist Caucus (BUUC) and architect of its Black Affairs Council (BAC) during the Black Power struggle in the UUA during the late ’60s and early ’70s.
Professor Sanyika’s academic fields include: African World Studies, Social Theology, Political Science Basic Research, Community Development, and Civic Engagement. He has authored over 60 studies, articles, manuals, reports and studies and has traveled, lectured, or consulted in Africa, Eastern and Western Europe, Central Asia, Canada, South America, the South Pacific and the Caribbean.
